I arrived in Guardamar on the bus and walked to the hotel Eden Mar asking a lady on route if she knew where it was, and she did, and she lavishly praised the place, the proprietor and his staff, and she was right. The manager, Carlos, and his staff are super friendly and helpful, and competent, printing out the bus time table when asked about the bus to Alicante. The lift was much appreciated, I loved the balcony with two chairs and a table and a little drying rack for hanging up your swimsuit and towels etc, Everything was spotlessly clean, I also loved the fridge, which kept everything cool, I loved the bathroom with a hair dryer and a spacious easy-to-use shower with a removable shower head and two positions on the wall to have it stationary, there was also a plastic stool in the bathroom, which could have been used as a shower-stool. There was a table and a chair so one could have food in the room, a big sliding door wardrobe and ample drawer space and a full length mirror were all very welcome. The good WiFi was very welcome, too, as was the solarium on the roof of the house with seating areas and deckchairs which could catch the sun all day long, as well as (at an extra cost) use a spa. The location is an easy stroll away from a gorgeous wide white sandy beach with the possibility of hiring deckchairs. A big, well frequented and well stocked supermarket is across the road just about 100m in the other direction. My breakfast was included in my booking and I enjoyed the buffet type help-yourself breakfast, with a choice of cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs and beans and cold food and drinks, fruit, cereal, croissants and bread and buns which could be toasted as well as cheese and meat and jams and the more typically Spanish gazpacho (Cold tomato soup) and Spanish omelette. Another plus is the availability of the in-house restaurant (closed on Tuesdays) with a good choice of especially seafood paella, but also fish and chips.

Check in & Check out. Friendly helpful staff. Very clean & bright 2nd floor room overooking street . Aircon was quiet and worked well. Small ridge good. Bedding was comfortable. Bathroom was a little small but receptionist discussed with us beforehand and we chose room for street view. Lifts small but worked well. Excellent location , about 100 m from very good and safe public car park for easy parking when Guardarmar gets very busy for street parking in main holiday season. Good value cafes & restaurants nearby. Large Mercadona supermarket & ATM about 50 m away. 5 to 10 minute walk to lovely beach front & sand. Small bar / restaurant in hotel was useful for Breakfast or a quick snack. Small balcony pleasant for viewing street scene. Guardarmar is a really pleasant Spanish town with character & place to stay to be central for many good things to see within 10 - 20 Km: Santa Pola, Rojales, Tabarca Island, Quesada, Elche, Torrevieja, Alicante & Airport. Well Recommended. Pub crawling Brits please stay away. Great Chinese restaurant about 70 m down the street, and open most hours. Will stay there again with hesitation, but we usually avoid Spanish peak holiday season as it can be good but more than a little busy.

The staff here are lovely. We stayed a year ago and all the same staff are still there today. From the bar people, the happy chambermaid, great chef, to the reception staff, everyone could not have been more helpful, cheerful and respectful. The bar is really comfortable, and the bar food is great, as is their wine. We didn't book the buffet breakfast as the bar does a good variety (tostadas with tomato, ham, cheese, avocado, tuna or just butter and jam, scrambled eggs, omelette etc.) We came back again this year because of the staff and the ambiance. Great location in the town, beside a big supermarket, restaurants, bars, and just a 5 min walk to the beach. We had no problem parking the car nearby every night (May 2024)

The staff were super nice, the room was as pictured on the website and although on the small side, it was very comfortable and good value for money. There's a supermarket 5 minutes walk away for snacks etc and there was a small fridge to keep drinks cold. It was in a great location, near to all the bars, restaurants with the beach, bus station, market and park, only a short walk away. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, bacon, egg, beans, juice and coffee. The solarium on the top floor was relaxing. The bar downstairs was reasonably priced for drinks and foods and it was near to a super Chinese which we definitely recommend.

I can see why people keep returning to this place - it’s in a great location 5 mins walk from the beach, spotlessly clean, lovely friendly staff who can’t do enough for you and the cafe/restaurant attached has tasty cooking at fair prices. The buffet breakfast was good standard and plentiful - I especially loved the fresh orange juice! The room was cleaned to an excellent standard daily. There’s easy parking in the surrounding streets and a nice restful rooftop area (although you have to pay to use the spa). We spent 6 nights here and will definitely return!
